Annual Lolita Chocolate Meet | Angelic Pretty's Chess Chocolate Coordinate

The annual chocolate meet for the Adelaide lolita community is always a big one. It is usually held around Easter, and everybody puts onย their favourite chocolate prints, we meet up some where and you guessed it – eat a lot of chocolate. This year was no different. The time and date was set,ย and we went and took over the top floor of Koko Black for the afternoon.

As some of you who have been reading my blog for a little while might have guessed, when it comes to anything chocolate related my go to print is Chess Chocolate by Angelic pretty. It was the first brand dress I ever owned, and the first print I managed to collect the entire set for (I have everything – blouse, bonnet, bow, socks). To this day it is still one of my favourite dresses, so of course I had to wear it out. I decided I would wear the head bow this time, as I wore the same outfit to last years Chocolate meet only with the bonnet. (hey, its a good coordinate, and I say if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!)

The groupย sat down and ordered together, and everyone blended in with their surroundings perfectly ๐Ÿ˜› There were so many delicious looking sweet things that people ordered, but I went for this glorious looking cake.

I can never move past anything that is salted caramel flavour, and today was no different. This was a salted caramel mouse with a flourless chocolate cake in the middle. It had a piece of toffee leaning on the side of it, and when they brought it to the table the waitress poured hot caramel sauce down it, like a slide. I was in heaven, and yes it tasted as good at is looked.

All hyped up on sugar, we all left the cafe. It was a busy Saturday so we were stopped by a lot of people for photographs. We eventually got sick of it and disappeared up to the top floor of regency arcade to escape. We were all being a little bit silly, and I got a great bunch of photo’s of “Lolita’s behaving badly” lol.

As when we made it to the end of the arcade there was a lovely lady coming out of the haigh’s chocolate store room who was kind enough to take a group photograph of us all – our timing could not have been better. I think this photo looks like we just stepped out of the chocolate factory. Don’t we all just look delicious?!

Do you have a favourite “go to” dress for certain occasions? and if so, what is it? Let me know in the comments!

My Lolita Wardrobe

I have finally gotten around to creating a page dedicated to my wardrobe! You will find a link to the page in the main menu up above or, you could just

ETC Sweets Patiserie JSK AP Lavendar fancy paper dolls JSK AP Chess Chocolate low waisted JSK We're all made here pink betty skirt

I thought having a page instead of a post would be best, as it makes the wardrobe easier to find, and easier for me to update as I get new things and sell old things. I will be updating it super soon, as I just purchased AP’s Crystal Dream Carnival!

So far I have only added all of my dresses and skirts but I plan to very soon as photos of my shoes, and bag collection (Which upon inspection is actually a whole lot bigger than I thought it was). Hope you enjoy it!

This outfit came about, because I woke up one morning feeling completely miserable. It was cold and raining and I was just feeling sad. So I decided that decking myself out head to toe in chocolate was the way to go. It definitely worked, I felt much happier by the time I was done!

So here is the break down of what I wore:

I decided the answer to every question that day was going to be “Chocolate”, so when it came time to decide on what to have for lunch… it was kind of a no brainer ๐Ÿ˜›

Adelaide Lolita Easter Meet – So much Chocolate!

Adelaide Lolita Easter Meet – So much Chocolate!

Easter meet 2015 3

I Know I am a tad bit late, but oh well. Better late than never right? I hope you all had a lovely Easter break ๐Ÿ™‚

The Easter long weekend for the Adelaide lolita community means a few things, there will be chocolate, it’s going to be a big meet, there will be pastels everywhere, and most importantly, there will be bunny ears!

I was so excited for this meet, but I almost didn’t make it as I had been quite ill for the whole week before. By the time it came around, I was determined to go as I was sick of being couped up in the house, and I desperately wanted to twin my chess chocolate print with my friend Corina.

Easter meet 2015 12

I know I have worn my chess chocolate print a thousand times before, but man I love that dress. It was finally cool enough for me to wear the matching long sleeved blouse, and to even pair it with my chocolate print cardigan! It was my first time wearing the bonnet as well, and I am so pleased with how the coordinate came out.

Easter meet 2015 2

Being Easter Saturday, our original venue san churos was closed ๐Ÿ™ Luckily there was another chocolate shop open on Rundle street (I forget the name), that had enough space for us all. They even had gluten free chocolate cake! I was in heaven. Angela and Kiri had organised little bags with chocolate eggs in them for all of us, and we also got a riddle to solve. The answer to each riddle was a place you could hide an Easter egg, I didn’t do so well at figuring it out though.

Easter meet 2015 5

Here is me with my lovely twin for the day Cornia! She thought it was hilarious how short I was standing next to her, so she made me stand up on the curb for our photo. She was still taller than me!

Easter meet 2015 9 Easter meet 2015 10

Corina and I weren’t the only ones to twin that day though. Angela and Kiri were perfectly matching (as always) in there royal melty chocolate JSK’s, with their adorable matching handmade bunny ears. Then there was Dalestair and Sophie twinning in their chocolate quartet dresses.

Easter meet 2015 11

Once we had our big group photo, we went for a wander through the mall and made our way to Miss Pixie’s closing down sale. Which is where I got my adorable bunny ears! I didn’t stay out much longer as I was still feeling a little under the weather, but I am glad I went. It was such a lovely event ๐Ÿ™‚

Super Shiny New Nails

Super Shiny New Nails

Just a quick one today ๐Ÿ™‚ I have been so busy with TAFE lately that I haven’t had time to do my nails all that often as I would have liked, but I have a few new designs to share with you. Hope you like them!

black and pink lace nails

This design I came up with because I wanted something a little more basic and not as 3D as I usually do my nails. I really liked these, and I think I might do them again, most because I didn’t keep them this way for very long.

Chess Chocolate Nails

I did this set not long after the first design. I did these to match my Chess Chocolate dress, which i wore to our Lovely Pairs Lolita Valentines Day Meet.

Bling Nails

Since I managed to trash my chess chocolate nails pretty quickly (the gold hearts were just cut outs from gold paper and died pretty quick unfortunately), these babies were next. After out Valentines day meet, we all went for a wander around the shops, and I found packets of these bad boys for super cheap. So i bought a whole heap of them and of course had to try them right away. For something so chunky, they stayed on really well. That is until they started to drive me crazy and I pulled them all off. Now I have no fake nails on at all.

Lovely Pairs Valentines Day Meet

Lovely Pairs Valentines Day Meet

Valentines day is such an awesome day, and we always have an adorable themed meet around then as well. This year it was called the “Lovely Pairs” meet, and the idea was to match up with someone else, and not necessarily twin, but to be a lovely pair. We all wrote love poems for a competition to win a lovely AP necklace, and headed to our very own Hello Kitty Cafe to fill ourselves up with sweets!

Valentines day lolita meet 2015 1

I was so excited for this meet, because after a whole year of searching I had finally manged to collect all the pieces for my chess chocolate co-ord. I even got my hands on the matching blouse, but since it was thick and long-sleeved and it was 38 degree’s (that’s Celsius people!) outside, I decided not to wear it. I was supposed to be a lovely pair with my friend Corina who had just purchased the same dress in mint, but unfortunately it didn’t arrive in time for the meet.

Valentines day lolita meet 2015 2

I ended up making a lovely triplets group with Pepper and Pale as we were all very pink! No surprises there really, I’m always very pink! ๐Ÿ˜›

My absolute favourite co-ord of the day was the one that Rebecca was wearing! She wore Romantic rose letter by Angelic pretty with a head-piece she made herself. Doesn’t she look gorgeous?! After seeing her in it I instantly fell in love with this dress, and it is now on my wish list.

Valentines day lolita meet 2015 4

As always, the food was so amazingly delicious, and ridiculously adorable. I ordered a creme brulee, and it came out with this cute hello kitty face on it. I almost felt guilty about eating it. Almost.

Valentines day lolita meet 2015 3

We did what we do pretty much every meet, stuffed ourselves with cake/sweet treats, and then stand/sit around catching up and giggling a lotย ๐Ÿ˜›

Valentines day lolita meet 2015 6

After our obligatory group photo we all went for a walk and had a look through a few shops before heading home. As always, I had such a lovely day ^_^

Sailor Jerry Invites you to a super secret lolita meet!

Sailor Jerry Invites you to a super secret lolita meet!

One of the Mods on the Adelaide Lolita Community Facebook page goes by the nickname Sailor Jerry. When it came her turn to organize a meet, she thought what better idea than a sailor themed meet at the Maritime museum! I thought it was such a great idea, I couldn’t wait to go! Now I was so silly, this meet actually happened the same weekend as Southern Blues, but I completely forgot about it until I was going through my photo’s the other day! With how busy we were and with me being so sick, it completely slipped my mind. But I thought I would share it now anyway, because it was such an adorable meet!

Now, I don’t actually own any sailor themed dresses so I decided I would wear my pink Chess Chocolate dress, as it is one of my favourites and I thought it looked a bit regimental with the buttons going up the front ๐Ÿ™‚ All the other girls look just adorable! There was a whole lot of red and navy dresses worn out that day.

Christine, Britt and Kendelle all had the same sailor print from Leif, and look super cute as triplets!

And as always, Kiri and Angela were their adorable matching selves.

There was much silliness going on, and the whole trip was mostly used as a giant photo opportunity (no surprises there right?). Getting in those bunks for this “Lolita sailor slumber party” was interesting. Getting out even more so, there were petticoats flying everywhere!

More silly photo’s as we were sitting in one of the made up middle class rooms. I don’t know how they managed to travel for so long in such cramped conditions, it would have driven me crazy!

One of the highlights about the Maritime museum is that they actually have a full-sized boat in their main foyer! So after we had our fun being silly on board…

…We got this lovely group shot of us all on the main deck ๐Ÿ™‚

We went to a rather interesting cafe for lunch afterwards, then the others headed off for a walk along the pier. Since it was southern blues weekend for me and I still had dancing on that night, I had to bail on the rest of the afternoon in favor of going home for a well-earned nap!

Latest Haul : New Lolita Gear

Latest Haul : New Lolita Gear

I have been super naughty recently and have bought a whole heap of new items for my Lolita wardrobe. I felt they were necessary purchases, and thought I would share them with you ๐Ÿ˜›

The first one I am pretty excited about, as it was a dream dress purchase. It is the Pink Chess Chocolate JSK in Pink from Angelic Pretty isn’t it just the prettiest thing you have ever seen?! I am still desperately searching for the matching head bow if anyone is selling it ๐Ÿ™‚

There is also a good story as to why I felt I *had* to buy this dress. So, I had been pining over it for a while when one came up for sale on lacemarket. She wanted a bit much for it, and also wouldn’t ship outside the USA which meant I would have to get it sent to a friend to forward on. In the end I decided it was going to be way to much, and let the auction pass. I was so sad. But then a few weeks later I found the dress again on closet child. They wanted much less for it than the previous sale, and would ship it straight to me, but since it was just before the settlement on our house I again decided that maybe I shouldn’t. Then a week later, they put it on sale. I decided that I had tempted fate for too long and that I wouldn’t find it so cheap ever again, so I bought it ^_^

The next impulse buys was this gorgeous BTSSB cut sew, and this super cute APย hearts skirt. This photo does not do either of the justice, they are super adorable in real life!

The next few items are second hand body line items, so I got them super cheap. I just had to own them though. I am such a sucker for anything pink and spotty and this was just to cute to pass up.

This one I got only a few days ago, and I just had to own it, because well, PONIES! ๐Ÿ˜€ Its so pretty, and also came with the matching head bow, socks and blouse. I’m also pretty stoked, because I am pretty sure it will match with these shoes which i have owned forever without actually having anything to match. So good! Now I just have to find them… (they are in this house somewhere!)

Last but not least is this adorable heart bag. I had been contemplating buying one from store envy, and then one of the Adelaide girls put it up for sale on lace market for $10. What a steal ๐Ÿ˜›

That’s it for new wardrobe additions, I did order some new shoes from bodyline which turned out to be a disaster. I managed to order four pairs that where two sizes to big for me, so I have been trying to resell them here. I re-ordered them this morning in what I *think* is the right size this time, so keep your fingers crossed for me. If they don’t fit this time around, I may cry.
