High tea on a Monday because we BAMF

High tea on a Monday because we BAMF

What? high tea on a Monday?! how bizarre! I know right? but hey, my friends and I are all students/shift workers so Monday happens to be a rather good day to catch up for most of us. I was in such a rush that morning (I finish work at 8am Monday mornings) I was super surprised at how well I pulled this coordinate together. I was still running around in a state of undress when my friends started arriving so we could leave together.

Coordinate details

Shoes: Bait Footwear

Stockings: bought from a friend

Dress: Fancy Paper Dolls by Angelic Pretty

Blouse: TaoBao

Cardigan: Target

Bag: Angelic Pretty

Belt: Ebay

Head Bow: Angelic Pretty

I was so pleased with how my hair came out, especially since I came up with the style entirely by accident. I was going to put my hair in twin buns, but I got distracted halfway through putting them up (the doorbell rang!) and thought it looked really cute with some hair hanging down, so i just left it like that. Yay for accidental cute hairstyles!

As stated before, we headed to Pressed Tin Cafe in the city. Corrina had managed to get us a big groupon deal so it ended up being only about 15 per head for the high tea. Not to bad if you ask me, and the best part is – they did gluten-free. Even better, their gluten-free stuff was actually good. For savoury I got sandwiches, sausage roll and some curry puffs. For dessert a little plate containing Chocolate brownie, passion fruit cheesecake and 2 tiny orange cupcakes. My only complaint is that they didn’t have any GF scones. I love scones!

Chelsea was pretty happy with the food offering for the non gluten intolerant.

Pressed Tin isn’t just a cafe, it also happens to be a rather lovely furniture store as well. They have so many lovely things its always fun to walk through and take a thousand photos. I found this couch during our wonder and my gosh I wish I had space in my house so I could take it home. It was just the perfect shade of pink and so comfy too. I think we were made for each other. Maybe one day it will be mine.

Me with my lovely friends Ashleigh and Chelsea. Aren’t they cuties?

Corrina and I fell in love with the derpy look on this little pugs face, we just had to pose with it!

For a Monday, That was a pretty good day!

My lordy have I ever been slack with this blog. There is so much catching up to be done! Believe it or not, I wrote this post for Chelsea’s birthday… last year ๐Ÿ˜› and then I forgot to ever post it! How terrible of me. And now here we are a year later, and its her birthday again! Well, I suppose better late than never right? Happy Birthday Chelsea!

Back in October the delightful Pocket Sized Vampire Pandah (Chelsea!) turned 21! For her party she organised for a group of us to go out to Just Tickled Pink for High Tea! I have been there before as you may remember from a few of my previous posts, we went for Corina’s birthday last year and for our lolita Comm Valentines day meet this year. You all know how I feel about the colour pink, so I was happy to be going back there again, plus the food is always so yummy!

I had purchased Angelic Pretty’s Whip Factory Salopette on one of the sales Comms a week prior, and was super excited when it arrived in the mail just in time for me to wear it to the party. As you can see it was just perfect for the party since not only is it pink (as most of my clothing items are) but it is also covered in adorable cakes! Taking one look at it you can see why I had to add it to my collection, pink and adorable food? I’m in!

When I first tried the whip factoryย on, I was surprised at how large it was around the waist. It is the first Salopette I have ever bought and worn and was concerned it wasn’t going to fit me. Thankfully with the addition of a lovely pink belt I had in my wardrobe I managed to get it to sit perfectly around my waist!

It was quite a warm day so I was reluctant to wear a wig or anything on my head. I decided to opt for something a little simple, and used my own hair with some clip in extensions to make a cute pony tail. I put two pin curls into my fringe, then finished it off with two small bow clips.

For my make up I opted for pink shaded eye shadow from my Too Faced bon bons palate, winged liner and some false lashes. Pink blush cheecks, and Jeffree Stars Doll Parts on my lips

As always, the birthday girl looked adorable in her Angelic Pretty x Disney little mermaid print dress and Jacket.

I was running a little bit late on the day, so when I walked in I was handed a non alcoholic sparkling drink, and this lovely plate of goodies was waiting for me when I sat down. As always, I went for the gluten free option which, in this instance, meant I got my own plate of treats. I think my favourite was the apple and pistachio loaf you can see on the back of the plate It was so moist and sweet, which by the look of it was quite unexpected.

As is our usual, we took a group shot of all the lolita’s together out the front of the venue. We were all in sweet, and everyone looked adorable.

Happy Birthday Chelsea! I hope you had a lovely!

Just Tickled Pink is quickly becoming one of my favourite places to go for high tea because of how delicious their allergy friendly food is. Do you have a favourite place for high tea? What makes it your favourite?

Bridal Shower: High Tea at the Intercontinental

Bridal Shower: High Tea at the Intercontinental

The grand adventure that was my bachelorette party took place about a month before the actual wedding, for rather practical reasons. I didn’t want to be at all hung over for my wedding day, or the time before hand as we were organising most of it ourselves and I had so much to do, plus on the off-chance I managed to damage myself I figured I would need time to recover. I also wanted to do something a little more tame than heavy drinking and strippers, a little closer to the wedding so that my family and friend that were flying over for the wedding could come. Thus my bridal shower was organised.

Myself, my mum and my Auntie Sharon, who had come down from the gold coast for the wedding.

Again, my delightful bestie came through and organised a lovely lunch for us all, the Thursday before the wedding at the intercontinental hotel. She had these adorable chocolates made for it, and we all had one waiting for us on our plates as we sat down, they were the perfect touch.

Sarahs Bridal shower 2016 1

We were all given a glass of champagne to start off with, and then whilst we all chatted they started bringing out trays of delicious finger food.

Sarahs Bridal shower 2016 3

As always, I got my own tray of yummies thanks to me being allergic to EVERYTHING. lol. All the cakes they gave me were delicious, I also had a plate of little sandwiches but in my enthusiasm to eat them, I forgot to take a photo ๐Ÿ˜›

Sarahs Bridal shower 2016 4

I had a lovely turn out of twenty or so people, most of which were not able to attend my first party. We had a lovely afternoon of chatting, drinking tea and eating cakes before we all headed home and I started the mad task of packing to get everything up to the wedding venue the next day!

I think this is the last quiet moment I had until the following Monday, as things got super hectic from this point on!

AVcon 2015 – Day 2

AVcon 2015 – Day 2

AVcon Day Two was a super busy Lolita filled day for me.

AVcon - day 2 - 6

Unfortunately, I don’t actually have any decent pictures of my coordinate as I was determined to pull dumb faces, and you couldn’t get my new selfie stick out of my hands if you tried ๐Ÿ˜›

AVcon - day 2 -15

I decided to wear my Milky Planet coordinate, since it is absolutely my favorite. I have all the accessories, including the amazing up-side-down ice-cream headband and I love wearing it because it is just so pink!

AVcon - day 2 -13

Because I won best coordinate at last years Lolita parade, I got to judge at this years one ๐Ÿ™‚ I found it to be just as daunting as walking out on stage the year before! Everyone looked so beautiful, and choosing the winners were super hard! I was so busy, I only managed to take one photo whilst everyone was waiting to go on.

AVcon - day 2 - 1

After the parade was over we had our annual AVcon high tea at the maid cafe. It was just lovely! They set up a special table for us and gave us china cups to drink from, and we hand maids and butlers wandering around filling our plates up with cake the whole time. It was just delightful!

AVcon - day 2 - 5

As you can see, my selfie stick got a fair bit of use, as I got photo’s with a lot of the girls ๐Ÿ™‚

AVcon - day 2 -14

After we gathered together for our group shot, the maids at the cafe put on the cutest little dancing performance for us! I wish I could find the video because it was just adorable.

AVcon - day 2 - 7

What little time I had left I spent hanging out with these guys (My brother Andy, his friend Anthony and Mr Tardo), and playing computer games.

AVcon - day 2 - 10

As always AVcon was awesome, but went by way to fast.

50 Shades pinker, my lolita high tea birthday party!

50 Shades pinker, my lolita high tea birthday party!

Happy Birthday to mmmeeeeee!!! yes, today is my actual birthday! But things are getting so busy at the moment that I decided to hold my birthday party a week and a half early ๐Ÿ˜› Lolita has really become a big deal for me over the past year, as a lot of you may have noticed, so I wanted to throw a party and invite the whole community as a kind of thanks for making my life awesome.

I decided that since I had missed Britt’s 50 shades of Pink party earlier on in the year since I was away in Queensland for Dan and Jacqui’s Engagement party, I would hold the sequel ๐Ÿ˜› and thus, my 5o Shades Pinker party was created!

I spent the better part of the day before baking up a storm, and managed to get myself a little frazzled as a few people pulled out of coming last-minute. When time came for the party to start, I was so super excited.

50 shades pinker lolita hight tea 7

I decided to wear my Emily Temple Cute rose garden dress, because it is just the most amazing shade of pink, plus it is super light and just perfect for the warm spring whether we were expecting that day. I was planning to wear a blonde wig, but I just couldn’t get it to behave itself, so I ended up styling my own hair for the outfit. I am really pleased with how it turned out, plus it was much cooler in the hot weather.

Mr Tardo being the best man a girl could ask for, got up super early to make sure the garden was looking lovely and the lawns were mowed, and then even got dressed up for the party too! Doesn’t he look super adorable in his pink shirt and bow tie?! Gosh I love that guy!

50 shades pinker lolita hight tea 5

Once all the girls started arriving, it was straight into the food and gossip about dream dresses we can’t afford.

50 shades pinker lolita hight tea 1

It was absolutely delightful sitting outside under the porch as well. I was a little worried it might get too hot, as we have never actually had that many people over for a party before. At least not one that didn’t involve sitting in the dark playing board games ๐Ÿ˜›

50 shades pinker lolita hight tea 2

It was decided that my pink room was where all the outfit shots should be. In hind sight, I wish I thought to move my ugly red washing basket from the shots! Lucky all the girls looked just beautiful anyway.

Of course at the end we all grouped together in the garden for the obligatory group photo, and even Bella decided to be in it!

My first ever party at our new(ish) house was a complete success and as a result, it looks like we are now going to be hosting the annual Lolita community Halloween Meet. I can’t wait!

As for today, i look forward to spending the day at work with some of my favourite clients, and then going out for dinner with some close friends and family tonight.

Thanks for reading!

Corina’s Birthday High Tea at Just Tickled Pink

Corina’s Birthday High Tea at Just Tickled Pink

Gosh this was a little while ago now, but was such a lovely day. My lovely loli friend Corina decided to have a high tea meet at Just Tickled Pink for her birthday, and there was a nice little group of 7 of us who attended. As usual, I decided to wear a rather pink co-ordinate to go with the theme of the cafe, and when I arrived i found I matched the decor rather nicely ๐Ÿ˜›

Corina's Birthday High Tea 6

Upon arrival, they gave us a glass of this sparkling berry something. It was delicious, but I was a little disappointed it wasn’t champagne!

Corina's Birthday High Tea 4

As always, I got my very own tray of gluten-free treats. It was definitely better than some of the other attempts at gluten free I have been given, as everything was delicious! There was GF sandwiches, sausage rolls and a little salmon quiche for savory, and a cupcake, cookie and banana cake for sweets. I would have loved to see some gluten-free scones, but everything was so yummy it more than made up for not having any.

Corina's Birthday High Tea 2 Corina's Birthday High Tea 3

One of the ladies that worked there was walking around with a gorgeous looking giant silver teapot, that looked rather vintage, and kept filling up our tea cups. This made me happy as I love drinking endless amounts of tea, as you know. Much gossiping was done before we finished eating, but then we discovered they had an even pinker room out the back for functions, so we head out there for some of our group photos.

Much silliness and selfies followed, as well as the customary group and outfit shots. I hope Corina enjoyed her birthday, because I sure did!

High Tea at the Hilton

High Tea at the Hilton

We recently discovered that the Hilton Hotel in Adelaide has been in cahoots with Heighs chocolate putting on a delicious high tea in one of their restaurants. Naturally we had to have a meet there, because who doesn’t love chocolate or high tea? One of our lovely community members Miss Tink was kind enough to organize one for us!

Lolita Hilton high tea Jan 15 2

Since I am saving my chess chocolate to wear on valentine’s day when I *should* have the whole set (fingers crossed!), I decided to go with a co-ord that is not something I would usually wear. I am so glad that I did, because I am so pleased with how it came out!

Lolita Hilton high tea Jan 15 1

I have had this Emily temple cute dress sitting in my wardrobe for a little while now. It was one of my trawling Facebook at midnight impulse buys, and for ages I have been trying to decide whether I actually like it or not. Every time I have put it on I just haven’t been able to co-ordinate it right. I think it is the addition of the blonde wig that has made it work for me, as all my others are either dark colours or bright pinks. I bought it not long ago for my costume for Jarryd and Katies Meme party, but I am so pleased with how nicely it goes with this dress. And to think, I was so close to reselling it too!

Lolita Hilton high tea Jan 15 3Lolita Hilton high tea Jan 15 4

The food was absolutely adorable, as expected for high tea. As usual, I had my own separate plate of gluten-free yummies, and they were all pretty good! On top of all the delicious cakes and things they brought to our table, we also had access to the tea bar. This was just great. They had little plungers and a massive collection of tea’s, so you could have what ever type you wanted and as strong as you liked (which i found fantastic since I like my tea super strong). My favourite flavour they had there was the rose and vanilla flavour, I think I had about 2 whole pots of it!

Lolita Hilton high tea Jan 15 5

Now lets not forget to mention the chocolate bar we had free reign over as well… it was all amazingly delicious. I never thought I would ever think I’dย had enough chocolate in one sitting, but man I was on sugar overload by the end of the day.

Lolita Hilton high tea Jan 15 6

Here is all of us after we had finished, I think we were all ready for a nap!

Lolita Hilton high tea Jan 15 7

It was such a lovely high tea, that I think we are planning to go for another one sometime soon. I do wish this was the end of my post here, but unfortunately it is not. I felt like I wanted to write something, as this was the first time I found myself in the situation. After we had finished and I was heading back to my car, I had my first ever bad experience wearing Lolita.

As I was walking down the street some old guy saw me and pulled out his phone and started taking photo’s as I walked past. Nothing completely out of the ordinary there. I just sort of muttered “You could ask you know”, and started walking a bit quicker. I didn’t think too much more about it, until I turned around to see he was following me. So I walked a little bit faster. So did he. I turned around and asked him to stop taking photo’s of me, but all he did was giggle and put his phone right in my face. So I held my bag in front of my face, told him to F-off and ran. THEN SO DID HE. This guy was quite literally chasing me down the street and giggling! This went on in the middle of the day, and no one even batted an eye lid. Luckily I ran into a group of some of the other girls who had gone for a walk in the markets, and they walked me to my car. But this guy just would not take a hint. I was so pissed off. What makes people think they have the right to treat people that way?

Don’t get me wrong, I am all for having my photo taken whilst I am in Lolita. I get it, I look different and its cute and not something you see every day. If you ask to take a photo I am more than happy to oblige, I’ll stand there and pose whilst you take as many as you like. But chasing me down the street? That’s just rude. Have some damn respectย people, I’m human too you know.

AVcon 2014 : Day 2

AVcon 2014 : Day 2

Day two of AVcon was again very Lolita filled (If you missed it, you can read about day one here). This time I was wearing my gorgeous new Snow White OP by Baby the stars shine bright that my lovely friend John got for me whilst visiting Japan. This is the first time I had worn it as I was saving it especially for the lolita parade, isn’t it just gorgeous?

I spent most of the morning wandering around with Mr Tardo looking through all of the stalls and watching the various LoL games. I also played a fair bit of Pokemon too ๐Ÿ™‚ Eventually it was time for marshaling for the parade so I went and met up with all the other excited Adelaide Lolita girls. Of course we had to have a group photo ๐Ÿ™‚

I was so in love with that little girls Dr Who co-ord that I wanted to buy one, but unfortunately her mother made it for her, and was not keen on making any more.

Once it was time to go in they seated us on the chairs to the left of the stage , it was really rather funny watching us all trying to squish ourselves into the tiny armed chairs with all our big puffy petticoats ๐Ÿ˜› Once it started, they called us all one by one to walk down the runway whilst the announcers explained to the crowd what we were wearing.

One of the official photographers snapped this one of me, I am so pleased with it ๐Ÿ™‚

Once we had all done our thing, they got us to line up together on the stage, and then go for one last lap. It would seem that the judges were having trouble deciding on a winner.

They decided that it was a tie between me and two other girls, and that they would leave it up to the crowd to decide. We all did another lap of the runway whilst everyone cheered, and guess what?

I won! In no small part to my super loud fiance and his friends ^_^ I won $200 cash and a $100 Madman voucher ( And I have no idea what to spend it on, so any suggestions would be great!)

After the parade, the Adelaide Lolita Comm ladies had organised a secret high tea for us in the maids cafe ๐Ÿ™‚ I was so hanging out for a cup of tea by this point I was super excited.

We had lovely cakes, prizes and even got to drink out of real china, which i thought was a nice touch for a convention meet.

This is pepper, one of the other girls who drew with me, isn’t she just the cutest?

The rest of the day was a bit of a blur, and over super fast. I went to see the AVcon cosplay comp, but I didn’t get any photos as we were seated way up the back of the arena. We also didn’t stay long, I hadn’t brought my glasses with me as I couldn’t fit them on my face with my huge fake eye lashes on and by the end of the day I was so tired my eye sight was so terrible I could hardly see anything anyway. So we left about halfway through to go and get sushi from the sushi train ^_^

I cant wait for next year!

Adelaide Moripop! Project

Adelaide Moripop! Project

A few weekends ago, I was lucky enough to attend the Moripop Projects La Masquerade au Bouboir! I had been so excited about it for months, I even had the second ticket sold I got in on it so quick. I got even more excited when they had to change the venue at the last minute to the intercontinental. I very almost missed it ๐Ÿ™ but thanks to some super quick moving and planning I made it there just as everyone was heading inside for a group photo. (This was on the same day as my Burlesque photo shoot, which explains the rather extreme make up!)

All the girls lined up on the stairs before we went in for our high tea!

When my parent returned from their trip to Europe last year they brought me the most gorgeous masks from Italy, and I have been dying to wear them ever since. They have been sitting on my mantle looking pretty for such a long time now, i was super happy when I managed to come up with a Co-Ordinate to match one of them!

When we went in, all the tables were beautifully set ready for us, we all had little name tags waiting at our chair and we were also given champagne. We all ended up turning our place card to face inwards, so we could all remember each others names.

The food itself was just amazing! All the girls at my table were pretty happy I was there, since I have so many food allergies I got my own special plate of things but the share platters that were brought out still had enough for me on it too, so everyone got to have a bit extra ๐Ÿ™‚

After discussing the need forย a mocha flavored macaroon, silliness followed as the macaroon sandwich was born.

Needless to say, I didn’t need much for dinner that night as we all spent the entire afternoon eating sweets!

I was even lucky enough to win one of the many door prizes ๐Ÿ™‚ Mine was donated by Shin Tokyo and had so many lovely things in it. I got a Japanese Magazine, a DVD of an anime I’ve never heard of, a pink bunny plushie and a vanity mirror!

My social life is getting in the way of my blogging.

My social life is getting in the way of my blogging.

Lol I know, not usually something people complain about, but my rather busy social life IS getting in the way of my internet time. This is the first time I have had the chance to sit down and write a post in over a week! What have I been up to you may ask? A lot of cool shit actually ๐Ÿ˜› I will put it in dot points or I will never get it all down.

  • Shortly after the vintage expo we had two days of staff training. Non-violent crisis intervention training. I was alright I suppose. The highlight? Well I got to restrain Mr Tardo and watch others do the same. It was pretty funny!

  • ย I drove down to Mt Gambier to run our beauty program with the Comrec group down there for a few days. It was lovely and we were super busy the whole time. My lovely friend Nadia also got a new prosthetic arm which she asked me to decorate for her, which I enjoyed immensely. The last one I did for her ended up being purple with a whole lot of big silver diamonties. This time she wanted something a bit different so we went for black, shiny and pink. I think it came out nicely ๐Ÿ™‚

  • My lovely friend Pixie held a high tea get together for a bunch of us girlies up at her parents place in the hills. It was such a lovely day! Summer is slowly starting to show its self over here, so when I arrived the sun was shining and there was a beautifully set table full of yummy looking cakes and things awaiting us. I also discovered a new love of unusual tea ๐Ÿ™‚ I ate so much and then took some home for later, just for good measure ๐Ÿ™‚

  • ย Later on that night was the lovely Kara’s birthday. Since my dear brother (Kara’s BFF) was off skiing with my dad, i promised to take her out to celebrate in his place. The night started with dinner at the walkers arms buffet, not that I ate much considering I had been sitting around eating cake all day! Then we went back to my house for pre-drinks, and I somehow ended up with about a doesn’t people sitting in my lounge room giggling and watching porn. Someone had given it to Kara as a present, so naturally they felt the need to watch it. When we finally made it to town we went on a bit of a pub crawl down rundle street before heading tot he palace and then Elysium. So it was a rather alcohol and nudity filled night. good fun though ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • Fathers day was a lovely night, me, mum, Mr Tardo and my Papa all went to the Hilton for dinner. The food was so good, we ate so much! I had the most amazing heighs chocolate martini, and the wine was yummy too.
