The common theme for these two outfits is the pink ribbon in my hair! I really can’t stand having hair in my face, especially when I am working or dancing, which is why you will quite often see me with it pulled back. I have let my fringe grow out quite long, so I can do cute pin curls in it and what have you, and am quite a fan of pulling the rest back of my face with a cute ribbon 🙂

Outfit breakdown:

Jacket: cute pink and short sleeved – found in a thrift store in Melbourne

Top: White, with black tubing and a small peter pan collar – Found in a thrift store in Adelaide

I know it is not very often you see me in fact not wearing pink, but I happen to be a big fan of pastel blues as well! This is just another casual outfit I put together for work. The weather was not to hot and not to cold, so I could get away with just a cardigan. I have been a real fan of wearing cute socks with my Jelly shoes lately as well. There is nothing I hate more than having super adorable socks on, and the no one can see them because of your shoes. This way I get the best of both worlds!

Outfit Break Down:

Necklace: Light pink Pearls – given to me by a friend

Cardigan: Angelic Pretty

Skirt: Circle Skirt, Blue with white polka dots – Valley girl (although I bought it from Savers!)

Socks: White with lace borders – Ruby Shoes

Gosh, considering I have been on holidays for so long, I was sooo unorganized for Neko Nation! (Post on the event to follow!) I think it was just because I had been feeling so sick for the few days leading up to it, that I hadn’t bothered to specifically plan for it.

Lucky for me, I have a ridiculously stuffed wardrobe and was able to pull something super kawaii together for the night!

Make Up

I was going for a bit of a magical girl look with this outfit, so I kept my whole eye area quite light with a white shimmer. Then on the lids I added a light pink and darkened it as I reached the edge of my eye. Then I covered both my lid and the area under my eye in fine silver glitter.

For eye liner, I lined the whole top of my eye finishing for a wing, and then continued under my ey until about half way. I hate wearing lower false lashes, so actually painted extra lashes on underneath with the eye liner. I then finished the whole look off by adding some super long curly lashes, and penciling in my eyebrows with a light brown colour to try match the wig a little.

As always, I went with hot pink lipstick, or the matte Lime Crime variety 😉

Outfit of the day: Kawaii Ice cream Girl

ouitfit of the day kawaii-ice-cream-girl

It has been so super hot in Adelaide lately, that my outfits have needed to cover less and less. It doesn’t seem to matter how hot it is though, I always feel weird without a cardigan or something to cover my shoulders.

kawaii Ice cream girl 6

I think it has a lot to do with the fact that I work in a very air conditioned building, and although it may be stupid hot outside, sometimes it can feel like a freezer inside. Plus, I burn in the sun super easy so it’s always nice to be a little bit covered.

Hair and make up

Being such a hot day, I decided to have my hair up. There is no cuter way in my mind that to little pig tail buns with a bow on either side!

Kawaii International Kawaii Leaders Dolly Competition

Kawaii International Kawaii Leaders Dolly Competition

kawaii-international-dolly-comp

I have decided to take a big step, and have entered this years competition to become the next Kawaii Leader for Kawaii International!

The theme this year was “Kawaii Dolly” and I had so many idea’s for it, I just couldn’t wait to get started! I did the whole photo shoot by myself, from the hair, make up and outfit, even the photography I did using the timer on my phone and a tripod. I am super excited to be involved, and I hope to do well and become one of the finalists 🙂

Since today is the first day of voting, I thought I would share with you all some of my answers for the application, starting with which photo’s I chose to use. It was such a hard choice as I took so many! But in the end I chose this one as my full length photo:

And this one as my close up/head shot photo:

Outfit Break Down

I am a big fan of the colour pink, and I also just love to collect cute things. As you can see from the background, I have a rather large collection of adorable stuffed toys, and when it came to idea’s for this theme, I thought what better than to try to blend in and be one of my toys?

The Lolita cupcake silhouette is perfect for doing just this in my opinion, as the beautiful bell shape made from a dress and a petticoat helps to make me look like an oversized doll that could be standing on a pedestal.

The print I decided to wear is my Cotton Candy Shop JSK from Angelic pretty, as it is covered in cute bears and bunnies, and of course is a lovely shade of pink! Not to mention, it is also one of my favourite prints!

To break up all of the pink, and to help me look more like a toy, I am also wearing my purple bunny jacket from Angelic Pretty. The hood is just so fluffy, and the ears that are attached help to make this look just a little bit more toy-like.

For accessories, I am wearing the JSK’s matching over the knee socks, with some chunky purple high-heeled shoes.

Kawaii international kawaii dolly contest miss venusfury of oh so kawaii 2

On my head I have several different sized bows, the main head bow being from baby the stars shine bright. Two smaller pink and purple bows help to hold my fringe off my face and is finished with a pink dangling star clip from 6% Doki Doki.

For my make up, I decided to use bold colours that would stand out and be a little over the top. This is because most dolls you see these days have completely overstated make up, which I think has worked fantastically with this look. Eye shadow tones of light pink, purple and dark pink, finished with a heavy liner along with long bold lashes, silver glitter and some face gems. High pink blush and hot pink lipstick finishes off this look.

Over all, I am so pleased with how this outfit turned out! I feel super kawaii and adorable, an as though you could shrink me and put me on the shelf and I would fit in just like magic!

What Does Kawaii Mean to you?

To me, Kawaii is far more than just a word. To me it is everything. A fashion, a way of thinking, a lifestyle, a state of being. It’s a way to express yourself and share who you want to be with the world. It is a form of simple happiness and joy that never runs out, that you can carry around in your heart like your own little brand of unlimited cuteness to share with the world. The day I decided to stop listening to the thoughts of others and to live the kawaii life I chose was one of the happiest days of my life, it was so freeing. Kawaii is my brand of happiness.

How can you spread Kawaii Culture?

I always endeavor to share the kawaii culture in every way I possibly can!

When I am out in the public eye, I have always thought that the best way to lead is by example. That if one person see’s me somewhere, weather it is online or in real life, and that helps them gain the courage to enter a kawaii fashion, or be brave enough to stand up and be who they want to be, then I am doing my job right.

When online, I am forever posting cute snaps of outfits, talking about new releases or where to buy that cute blouse, sharing my experiences of Lolita meets I go to and generally sharing my lifestyle with anyone that is interested. To share a culture, the best way is to keep the lines of communication open so it is easy for other people who might be interested to know what is out there. I do this by posting on every single social networking media I can get my hands on, because the more the Kawaii culture is put out there, the easier it is to find.

Kawaii international kawaii dolly contest miss venusfury of oh so kawaii 4

I am always very open about my lifestyle and the things I love, and am always happy to talk to anyone who might have questions on how to kawaiify their lifestyle. To share all the knowledge I have and to be fun, open, friendly and welcoming I think is the best way to spread the kawaii culture!

Thank you so much for reading my entry, I hope you now understand how I feel about all thinks Kawaii! I would really appreciate it if you could send a vote my way in this competition. All you have to do is click on the banner below or any of the photo’s in this post, and give the photo a “like” I would be for ever grateful!

This outfit I put together to wear to the Royal Adelaide Show! It was one of the first kinda warm days we had had, and I was just desperate to put on a skirt. I went for the kawaii school girl look, just because I think it suits me, and is super adorable. Especially when one is going on a cute little date with her fiance 😛

I have recently become a rather big fan of thrifting, or Op-shopping as we call it where I am from. In Adelaide there is a big public transport bus that has been decked out on the inside to be an Op shop on wheels – it is super cool. The have heaps of awesome vintage stuff that they sell, and the bus travels around to different events. That brings me to this outfit. I had gone to the Royal Adelaid Show with Mr Tardo and the bus was there, so I had a look inside and found this super adorable jumper!

Its a lovely baby pink and white stripped jumper, and it is sooooo soft to touch. I just had to get it. This outfit isn’t all that exciting, but I thought I would share it anyway as it is super cute.

Ok friends brace yourself. There is NOTHING Pink in this outfit! 😛 I know right? I was just as shocked as you are. This outfit I put together to go watch my dads band play. It was a super cold night and I wanted to look hot and be warm/comfortable. Plus, I had just bought these pants and was completely in love with them, and looking for an excuse to wear them anywhere. Unfortunately for you, almost everything in this outfit I bought second-hand, but let’s do the run through anyway.

Pants : Second hand off the Lolita sales in English Facebook page

Blouse: Valley Girl

Shoes: DFO Melbourne

Bag: Second hand from one of the Adelaide Lolita Comm girls

Necklace: Was a birthday gift from my bestie Amanda.

Belt: Bought in Japan years ago (This why it is trashed xP )

I am so in love with these pants, they are just so funky and so different from anything you ever seen in Adelaide, which is why I had to buy them the second I found them. I named this outfit “My big hearts” not just for the bag and the necklace, but because there is actually a big red heart on the left butt pocket of these, although I forgot to take a photo.
