Today I have a super cute pastel kawaii outfit to share with you all 🙂
Last weekend I had the privilege of being invited to the commitment ceremony of two of our dear friends from dancing and the lolita community here in Adelaide. It was a beautiful ceremony on their families farm with a giant and gorgeous gum tree as their back drop. They told us to wear something nice, but that there was really no restrictions on what we could or should wear. I wanted to make sure I was representing the lolita side of our friendship (there was lots of other dancers invited) without going to OTT Lolita. They also suggested we wear something comfortable since the event would be held in a paddock!
Yeah I know, I have been so slack about posting. I am really super naughty. Although I did go on several hiatus’, I have still been doing various nail art designs, when I could be bothered 😛 so I have a heap of new super kawaii nail art to show you since my last post back in November!
I went through a phase where all I wanted was block coloured nails with nothing fancy, then I went through another phase where I just couldn’t be bothered with them at all, so I had no nails on for a while there. But then I discovered the magical world of SNS, fell in love and have been playing with it ever since. It’s so light and strong, and goes on so thin they almost feel natural. They are supposed to be better for your nails that both Gel and acrylic, and the best part is (for me anyway) no allergic reaction! woo! I used to have to be so careful about what acrylic products I used or it would make my hands itch, but SNS causes non of that.
Anyway, enough of me rambling, onto the kawaii nail art!
Our community had an online event, asking us all to share a collection of our different coordinates from throughout the year. I didn’t realize, but I have worn Lolita soooooo much this year, more than double the amount I wore it last year! Here is the collage I made, and this isn’t even all our meets, as I was trying to not double up on print’s too much in this photo.
Looking back on my photo’s, I definitely have a few clear favorites. On the top of that list, surprisingly would seem to be my Cotton Candy Shop special set JSK from Angelic Pretty. I wore it so much last year, I just love all the colours on it!
Coming a close second I would have to say would be my Milky Planet JSK from Angelic Pretty. I was so excited to get my hands on the entire set in one hit, I just wore it to death. I mean, come on, who wouldn’t want to walk around with and upside-down ice cream cone on their head?
Last but not least, coming in third place would be my Chess Chocolate low waisted JSK from Angelic Pretty (yeah I’m a massive AP fan…). This was one of my most worn dresses last year as well, I just love how it sits on me ^_^
SOme of my other observations from this years coordinates is that after I dyed my hair black/purple, I stopped wearing wigs a lot. I still wore my blonde/pink/purple one a fair bit when I wanted to be blonde, but for the most part I used my natural hair!
I have acquired a few more dresses recently during the end of the year (Fancy paper Dolls and Crystal Dream Carnival!), so I will be interested to see what my most worn pieces will be this year!
So tell me, which of my coordinates from last year is your favorite?
Although Mr Tardo and I got engaged all the way back in May last year, it was only very recently that we finally managed to throw an engagement party! After much debating on a theme (I wanted to have a zombie apocalypse party, but mother wasn’t so keen), we eventually agreed upon an ice cream party! Mr Tardo was super happy about that because ice cream is pretty much his favorite food 😛
The reason it has taken me so long to write about is because I was waiting to get all the photo’s back! On the night I found out that as a lovely present, my friend Jo had hired a photographer for the night! So I have hundreds of beautiful pictures of the party. I think this one is my favourite:
Riccardo and I look all lovey, and then there is Katey in the back pulling a silly face 😛 pretty much sums up the whole party 😛 It was such a wonderful night, and i was completely blown away by the amount of love and generosity shown to us by our friends. We truly are very lucky to be surrounded by such wonderful people 🙂 Anyway, there was way to many gorgeous photo’s I wanted to share with you to just have a super long post, so I thought I would make a little slide show album instead. I hope you enjoy looking through them! 🙂
Live in Adelaide and love our photo’s? Our Photographer was Drew from Andrew Dinham Photographyand he was super lovely! I don’t think he missed a single moment through out the night, and the photo’s speak for themselves!
So the other day I went to the salon suppliers and they had the prettiest range of pastel nail polishes, I bought one in every colour of the rainbow! Then today at work I felt inspired. Naturally I felt the need to try out the pastel pink. They aren’t the most detailed work I’ve ever done, but they are pretty and I like them. Hope you do too ^_^
