lolita-twinning-meet-pink-lavender-cotton-candy-shop-print-by-angelic-prett-smally

I think one of my favourite things about Lolita is that it is perfectly acceptable for two people to be wearing identical outfits – it is even encouraged! To that ends, the Adelaide Lolita community hosted its yearly “Twinning” meet a few weeks ago. You are all probably quite aware about my feeling about Angelic Pretty’s Cotton Candy Shop print by now, so I was so pleased when Katie said she would be my twin for the day!

Sarah and Katie – Angelic Pretty’s Cotton Candy Shop

Adelaide Lolita community | twinning meet + Angelic Pretty Cotton Candy Shop

We went all out on the “twinning” part and matched almost everything. We even went so far as to do our make up the same!

Outfit rundown:

JSK: Cotton Candy Shop by Angelic Pretty, myself in pink and Katie in lavender.

Matching special set pieces: Socks, bags and headbow

Shoes: Gold heels from bodyline

Accessories: Heart necklaces and bracelets from louvisa

Wig: Blonde, pink and purple

We all met up and had a lovely lunch at My Kingdom for a Horse! which is a little hipster cafe just on the outer ring of the city. I was really impressed with all of their food as they had many super Sarah friendly options (Eg they catered to people who are intolerant to everything). I went for my usual, eggs Benedict and got a side of halumi, it was the greatest thing ever. I am ashamed to admit though, that I was having such a lovely time chatting and eating delicious food that I never actually got around to taking any photo’s in the cafe! Oops!

Once we were done eating we all decided to go for a bit of a walk to the local park to take some photos. As is my usual, I couldn’t help but snap a few selfies with my favourites <3

Corrina and Enken – Angelic Pretty’s Sugary  Carnival

We had such an awesome array of different styles and amazing twins I just had to share a few of my favourite outfits. First up, is Corrina and Enken! Enken actually had my sugary carnival dress on load specifically for this meet, which I was so excited about as she is not usually one to wear “sweet” Lolita. Don’t they both just look so darling? I think the cute little pig tail buns are what set it off for me. Sooooooo cuuuuttteeee!

Colin and Birtt – Metamorphosis Happy Balloon

Colin and Britt were one of my favourite pairs of the day wearing Metamorphosis’s Happy Balloon print! They even went all out and got themselves some matching helium balloons to match their dresses. I love how they are twinning, but both still put their own personal flair into the mix with different wigs, shoes and accessories.

Adelaide Lolita community | Twinning meet + Metamorphosis Temps De Fille Happy Balloon

Sophie and Finn – Fan Plus Friend

Sophie and Finn are one of my favourite Lolita couples, as they are almost always matching each other. For this meet, they both wore Fan Plus Friend outfits in different colours. I love that they are both even doing the same pose! kawaiiiiii! ^_^

Adelaide Lolita community | Twinning meet + Fan Plus Friend

Next we broke up into groups of “Gothic” and “Sweet” for more photographs! This is our gothic (ish) group below, they all looks so darling <3

Adelaide Lolita community | Twinning meet + Gothic Lolita Group

As always with our comm, the sweet group was pretty huge and was a mess of adorable pastel poofy perfection 😛 and a lot of pink. I approve!

Adelaide Lolita community | Twinning meet + Sweet lolita Group, Pink, Pastel and kawaii

And of course, not meet would be complete without the obligatory whole group photograph!

Adelaide Lolita community | Twinning meet + All coordinates

Once we were done with photographs, we went for a wander through town and ended up getting ice cream and coffee at Cibo, and gossiping some more. By the end of the day I was so full of food I felt like I wouldn’t need to eat for a week!

What was your favourite pair from the day? Do you prefer sweet or Gothic coordinates?

Lolita's-On-Ice-Our-mid-summer-ice-skating-meet

I am so terribly sorry for how over due this post is, but I just couldn’t not share it as the photo’s are just too gosh darn cute! This is an ice skating meet that our local community had back in summer when the weather was tipping the scales at over 40 degree’s (Celsius!) on an almost daily basis. We decided that to cool down, we should go ice skating!

Lolita's On Ice Our mid-summer ice skating meet 1Lolita's On Ice Our mid-summer ice skating meet 2

I wore my favorite milky planet set, I thought it was perfect for the occasion as it is covered in ice creams and snow 🙂 I have a super cute up-side-down ice cream cone head band that goes with it, but I thought it would be a little impracticable for ice skating, as it falls off my head a lot when I’m just walking around, so I opted for a plain cute bow instead 🙂 Over all, I am really pleased with how my coordinate looked.

Lolita's On Ice Our mid-summer ice skating meet 6

Of course, with Milky Planet being such a popular print, I wasn’t the only one wearing it! We had a Milky Planet triplet going on, with myself in the pink (of course!) Chelsea (or Pocket Sized Vampire Pandah) in blue and Katey in yellow. The girls were complaining about their ice skates not matching their outfits, I’m lucky enough to own my own as I used to be a figure skater when I was much younger. Here is a little video I took for instagram of me showing off some of my mad skills (or not so mad… it had been a while since I’d skated, and my skates were blunt as) 😛

I was so keen to have a reason to wear my lyrical bunny jacket. It is just the most divine colour purple, and the fluffy bunny ears are just the cutest thing in the world. I pretty much lived in it during winter, but it had been safely packed away in the wardrobe for the summer months.

Lolita's On Ice Our mid-summer ice skating meet 7Lolita's On Ice Our mid-summer ice skating meet 8

It was only a small-ish meet, but we all had a really great time and everyone looked super adorable. Christine is the only one that planned ahead, and put together a coordinate that would match the bright blue rental boots!

Lolita's On Ice Our mid-summer ice skating meet 4

Once everyone was done with ice skating, they all went into town for ice ream! Unfortunately, I had prior engagements that afternoon and had to go home, but I had such a lovely time combining two of my favourite things into one activity. I can’t wait to do it again!

2015-lolita-coordinates

Our community had an online event, asking us all to share a collection of our different coordinates from throughout the year. I didn’t realize, but I have worn Lolita soooooo much this year, more than double the amount I wore it last year! Here is the collage I made, and this isn’t even all our meets, as I was trying to not double up on print’s too much in this photo.

2015 lolita coordinates

Looking back on my photo’s, I definitely have a few clear favorites. On the top of that list, surprisingly would seem to be my Cotton Candy Shop special set JSK from Angelic Pretty. I wore it so much last year, I just love all the colours on it!

Kawaii international kawaii dolly contest miss venusfury of oh so kawaii 1

Coming a close second I would have to say would be my Milky Planet JSK from Angelic Pretty. I was so excited to get my hands on the entire set in one hit, I just wore it to death. I mean, come on, who wouldn’t want to walk around with and upside-down ice cream cone on their head?

Oz ComicCon 15 16

Last but not least, coming in third place would be my Chess Chocolate low waisted JSK from Angelic Pretty (yeah I’m a massive AP fan…). This was one of my most worn dresses last year as well, I just love how it sits on me ^_^

Chess Chocolate JSK Angelic Pretty

SOme of my other observations from this years coordinates is that after I dyed my hair black/purple, I stopped wearing wigs a lot. I still wore my blonde/pink/purple one a fair bit when I wanted to be blonde, but for the most part I used my natural hair!

I have acquired a few more dresses recently during the end of the year (Fancy paper Dolls and Crystal Dream Carnival!), so I will be interested to see what my most worn pieces will be this year!

So tell me, which of my coordinates from last year is your favorite?

oz-asia-festival-2015

I have never been to the Oz Asia Festival before, so when the Adelaide lolita community was invited to put on a parade, I was quite keen to be a part of it. We were supposed to be doing a parade on both the Saturday and Sunday, but I only Attended the Saturday.

Oz Asia Festival 2015 1

I wore my Cotton Candy Shop JSK, as dispite my initial reaction to it when I received it, it has fast become one of my favourite prints. It was a ridiculously hot day so instead of the matching OTK’s, I decided to go with some cute little ankle socks lest I die of heat exhaustion. Of course I brought along my lovely pink parasol, which was originally supposed to just be for show for the sake of the parade, but I actually ended up getting quite a lot of use out of it to keep the sun off.

Oz Asia Festival 2015 3 Oz Asia Festival 2015 4

The Oz Asia festival had set up this lovely Japanese inspired stage which they used to put on shows of different things relating to Japanese culture throughout the day. They had a few different drumming and martial arts presentations before they had our little lolita parade.

Oz Asia Festival 2015 5

Everyone looked so beautiful all dolled up for the parade.

Oz Asia Festival 2015 11

Once it was all done, we wandered around and had a look through all the different places. They had a “Passport” you could get stamped when you went into each different country’s area.

Oz Asia Festival 2015 7 Oz Asia Festival 2015 9

When we went to China, I found this place that sold these weird “J” shaped code things that got filled with ice cream, that happened to be gluten free! I just had to try one. One of my friends mentioned that the end of it looked like a butt hole, so we spent the rest of the day giggling about it.

Oz Asia Festival 2015 8

It was pretty darn tasty though, and being so hot it was nice to have some thing to cool me down.

I really hope we get asked back again next year a I had such a great time!

botanic-gardens-lolita-meet

Gosh this was a while ago now, but I just recently found all the photo’s on my phone, and they were so lovely I had to share.

This lolita meet was when summer was just starting to show its face, and was one of our first of the season (it happens often) when we decided to change to an inside venue because it was forecast to be super hot.

For my coordinate, I decided to go without a wig. Mostly because it was quite warm, and I have been loving my purple hair with coordinates a lot lately.

Botanic gardens lolita meet 1

For my outfit, I wore my toy parade mini skirt in sax, my tea party blouse with the peter pan collar and just a simple pink cardigan. I had been out some where (I don’t remember where) that morning so threw the outfit together pretty quickly so I could get out the house.

Botanic gardens lolita meet 4

All the girls had gone to Grill’d for lunch instead of the originally planned picnic in the gardens. It wasn’t as hot as originally forecast, but it was still pretty warm. I managed to miss them at lunch, but because it was such a lovely day we all decided to grab a take away cup of tea and go for a walk through the gardens anyway.

Botanic gardens lolita meet 5

We found a lovely little spot near the duck ponds to just sit and chat, and of course take all the silly selfies and outfit shots.

Botanic gardens lolita meet 2

We had so many sweet pastel prints out that day we just had to take a picture.

Botanic gardens lolita meet 3

I didn’t manage to get a shot of the whole group for some reason, but I did get this lovely one of all the “sweet” lolita’s!

Crystal-Dream-Carnival-Unboxing

I was so excited when my Crystal Dream Carnival dress finally arrived in the mail, I started running up and down the hallway. So the Mr Tardo pulled out his phone and started filming. It was a beautiful thing, and that’s how this unboxing video was born.

I *squee* a lot, bounce around and swear to love it more than my fiance. You should watch it, its pretty funny 😛

CUTE-LITTLE-LOLITA-DINNER

This was just a quick little meet we ha d a little while ago when the lovely Belle was down visiting from Melbourne 🙂 The girls had been out visiting Cleveland National wildlife park for most of the day, but being a Friday I unfortunately had to work. So instead, I got dressed up and went and met them out for a cute little lolita dinner.

Cute little lolita dinner 2 Cute little lolita dinner 6

We went to this lovely little Vietnamese place that I didn’t even know existed, but the food was delicious and quite cheap, so no complaints from me. I just wish I could remember the name of the place.

Cute little lolita dinner 1 Cute little lolita dinner 4

After, we all went to the Hello Kitty Cafe for dessert, because its adorable, we were adorable and the desserts there are sooo good! I had a creme brule and some delicious vanilla tea.

Cute little lolita dinner 3

I wore my pink Snow White OP from BTSSB and I am so pleased with how I coordinated this outfit, I think it has been my favourite way to wear it so far 🙂 it just looked so cute and girly, and I can’t believe how well the flower crown matched the dress. I won it as a door prize at the AVcon Lolita high tea (I think. I don’t actually remember), and the shoes I managed to pick up from Savers for $12!

dessert-market

I somehow managed to forget about this cute little meet we had, so I thought I would share it now. This was back in September! Now i think about it, it happened whilst I was on my accidental hiatus. Oops! In Adelaide, we have this cute little market in the city called the flinders street markets. Usually it is open for just anything, but every now and then they have a themed day, so when they announced they were having a dessert themed market we just had to organize ourselves a little meet there.

I wore my Emily Temple Cute Sweets patisserie JSK as I thought it fitting, and took along my newly acquired pink swimmer biscuit bag.

lolita desert market 2

I had anticipated eating junk all day, so I hadn’t had a huge breakfast, and I was not disappointed. The amount of gluten free stuff they had there was amazing. It all tasted so good too, my favorite being a salted caramel and chocolate bake GF doughnut.

lolita desert market 1

Of course I had to have my morning tea, and the company I bought it from said i could enter a competition to win lots of free tea (just fine by me!) if I took a selfie with the van and my tea. I did, and posted it on Instagram, but I didn’t win unfortunately.

lolita desert market 3

There was only a few of us, but we had a lovely time wandering around and gorging ourselves on all sorts of sweet things. I think it took me a week to come down from the sugar high. Totally worth it though 😛

And remember, if you haven’t already, please vote for me in the Kawaii International dolly contest so I can come one of their Kawaii leaders! All you have to do is click on the image below, and like my picture. Thank you! ^_^

I have decided to take a big step, and have entered this years competition to become the next Kawaii Leader for Kawaii International!

The theme this year was “Kawaii Dolly” and I had so many idea’s for it, I just couldn’t wait to get started! I did the whole photo shoot by myself, from the hair, make up and outfit, even the photography I did using the timer on my phone and a tripod. I am super excited to be involved, and I hope to do well and become one of the finalists 🙂

Since today is the first day of voting, I thought I would share with you all some of my answers for the application, starting with which photo’s I chose to use. It was such a hard choice as I took so many! But in the end I chose this one as my full length photo:

Outfit Break Down

I am a big fan of the colour pink, and I also just love to collect cute things. As you can see from the background, I have a rather large collection of adorable stuffed toys, and when it came to idea’s for this theme, I thought what better than to try to blend in and be one of my toys?

The Lolita cupcake silhouette is perfect for doing just this in my opinion, as the beautiful bell shape made from a dress and a petticoat helps to make me look like an oversized doll that could be standing on a pedestal.

Kawaii international kawaii dolly contest miss venusfury of oh so kawaii 1

The print I decided to wear is my Cotton Candy Shop JSK from Angelic pretty, as it is covered in cute bears and bunnies, and of course is a lovely shade of pink! Not to mention, it is also one of my favourite prints!

To break up all of the pink, and to help me look more like a toy, I am also wearing my purple bunny jacket from Angelic Pretty. The hood is just so fluffy, and the ears that are attached help to make this look just a little bit more toy-like.

For accessories, I am wearing the JSK’s matching over the knee socks, with some chunky purple high-heeled shoes.

Kawaii international kawaii dolly contest miss venusfury of oh so kawaii 2

On my head I have several different sized bows, the main head bow being from baby the stars shine bright. Two smaller pink and purple bows help to hold my fringe off my face and is finished with a pink dangling star clip from 6% Doki Doki.

For my make up, I decided to use bold colours that would stand out and be a little over the top. This is because most dolls you see these days have completely overstated make up, which I think has worked fantastically with this look. Eye shadow tones of light pink, purple and dark pink, finished with a heavy liner along with long bold lashes, silver glitter and some face gems. High pink blush and hot pink lipstick finishes off this look.

Kawaii international kawaii dolly contest miss venusfury of oh so kawaii 7

Over all, I am so pleased with how this outfit turned out! I feel super kawaii and adorable, an as though you could shrink me and put me on the shelf and I would fit in just like magic!

What Does Kawaii Mean to you?

To me, Kawaii is far more than just a word. To me it is everything. A fashion, a way of thinking, a lifestyle, a state of being. It’s a way to express yourself and share who you want to be with the world. It is a form of simple happiness and joy that never runs out, that you can carry around in your heart like your own little brand of unlimited cuteness to share with the world. The day I decided to stop listening to the thoughts of others and to live the kawaii life I chose was one of the happiest days of my life, it was so freeing. Kawaii is my brand of happiness.

Kawaii international kawaii dolly contest miss venusfury of oh so kawaii 3

How can you spread Kawaii Culture?

I always endeavor to share the kawaii culture in every way I possibly can!

When I am out in the public eye, I have always thought that the best way to lead is by example. That if one person see’s me somewhere, weather it is online or in real life, and that helps them gain the courage to enter a kawaii fashion, or be brave enough to stand up and be who they want to be, then I am doing my job right.

When online, I am forever posting cute snaps of outfits, talking about new releases or where to buy that cute blouse, sharing my experiences of Lolita meets I go to and generally sharing my lifestyle with anyone that is interested. To share a culture, the best way is to keep the lines of communication open so it is easy for other people who might be interested to know what is out there. I do this by posting on every single social networking media I can get my hands on, because the more the Kawaii culture is put out there, the easier it is to find.

Kawaii international kawaii dolly contest miss venusfury of oh so kawaii 4

I am always very open about my lifestyle and the things I love, and am always happy to talk to anyone who might have questions on how to kawaiify their lifestyle. To share all the knowledge I have and to be fun, open, friendly and welcoming I think is the best way to spread the kawaii culture!

Kawaii international kawaii dolly contest miss venusfury of oh so kawaii 8

Thank you so much for reading my entry, I hope you now understand how I feel about all thinks Kawaii! I would really appreciate it if you could send a vote my way in this competition. All you have to do is click on the banner below or any of the photo’s in this post, and give the photo a “like” I would be for ever grateful!

My-Lolita-Wardrobe

I have finally gotten around to creating a page dedicated to my wardrobe! You will find a link to the page in the main menu up above or, you could just

I thought having a page instead of a post would be best, as it makes the wardrobe easier to find, and easier for me to update as I get new things and sell old things. I will be updating it super soon, as I just purchased AP’s Crystal Dream Carnival!

So far I have only added all of my dresses and skirts but I plan to very soon as photos of my shoes, and bag collection (Which upon inspection is actually a whole lot bigger than I thought it was). Hope you enjoy it!
